We care for your new family member until they leave us!!
What happens to your horse, baby or adult, after you buy them, but before you pick them up? Typically you, the buyer, are responsible for any vet or farrier bills…and what happens if the horse dies while in the seller’s care? Who’s responsible for continued immunizations, training, trimming and who makes the decision of when to call the vet if something doesn’t look right? Is anybody caring for the animal enough to know if something doesn’t look right?
YES, WE DO! While we are in possession of your new family member, be they an adult or foal, we assume all responsibility and risk. Typically, when a horse is sold, the seller is done. We continue caring for them until they are picked up. We just don’t feel it’s reasonable that the buyer have the responsibility when the horse isn’t even in your possession! Equally, since we, the seller, have possession of the horse, we need to live up to our responsibility…not put it on to you, the buyer, just because money has exchanged hands! We DO NOT charge you for stabling or feeding. The period of time we extend this guarantee will depend on your requirements and will be specifically called out in our contract.
